Shadow Editions
I founded my publishing imprint Shadow Editions in 2012 with the intention to produce books that are conceptually consistent with my photographic projects. As my practice evolved, I have combined photography, typography and narrative fiction to produce a new, hybrid art form. My books use found imagery, seriality and pastiche to interrogate cultural understandings of gender, technology and place. For each book, I create a unique design language. The aim of each project is to combine the written word, materials and images to produce a total art work. Shadow Editions books are sold in Art and Design retailers in Melbourne, Sydney and New York. My book, ‘Some Cell Sites’ (2019), was shortlisted for the Cornish Family Award for Art and Design Publishing and it won the Perimeter Books Best Self-Published Photobook at the CCP Salon.
