When and where does Melbourne Art Book Fair take place?  

Melbourne Art Book Fair stallholder fair takes place at NGV International, 180 St Kilda Road, Melbourne from 24 May to 26 May in 2024. The satellite program runs from 23 May to 2 June and is held across Melbourne and regional Victoria in cultural institutions, libraries, universities, galleries, gardens and public spaces. Check the MABF program when it launches April 2024 for individual event venue details. The fair is free and open to the public 


Who is behind Melbourne Art Book Fair?  

Melbourne Art Book Fair is an initiative of the Victorian Government in collaboration with the NGV. It was created by Megan Patty Head of Publications, Photographic Services and Library, NGV; and is co-curated by Megan Patty and Cora Diviny. The art and design publishing sector contribute to MABF through organising and presenting events within the program. 


How do I access the portal to submit my application?  

To submit an application for the Melbourne Art Book Fair, head to the Participate page which will take you to the participant portal. You must sign up and create a basic profile in order to apply. You can complete an application for the events program and/or the stallholder fair. Please note, the portal will close for submissions on 23 November 2023 at 5pm.


When do I find out if I am a successful participant? 

Applicants will be informed of their submission status from 7 November 2023.  


I would like to attend the Melbourne Art Book Fair. 

From mid-April 2024, you can view the program online. Melbourne Art Book Fair is open to the general public and the majority of events are free but may require bookings and/or have limited capacity. Please check back in when the program is available to plan your visit. 


Is Melbourne Art Book Fair accessible?  

Melbourne Art Book Fair is presented at a range of different venues across Victoria. Information regarding accessibility at individual venues will be available when the program is released in mid-April.
