Post Office Lane

Naarm/Melbourne

Post Office Lane is a multidisciplinary publishing studio that looks to expand the meaning of publishing. Our collaborative practice focuses on creating physically involved visual experiences in the form of artists' books, hand-printed editions and public projects. We collaborate with artists working across various media, primarily focusing on reinterpreting bodies of work in ways that question the conventionalities of form, function and production.

With a practice rooted in our love for the DIY in publishing, our projects are primarily hand-printed and given in-house touches, highlighting the tangibility of the published object. We work with screen printing, woodblock printing, bespoke stamping methods, digital and risograph printing to help create structural book forms. We view books as experiential objects; vessels for dynamic storytelling and independent thought that are able to be explored and interpreted differently. Our works reflect this, with a particular emphasis on the visual language of the artist often allowing for open-ended exploration.

Based in Melbourne/Naarm, we primarily shine light on the breadth of local talent surrounding us; collaborating with artists, designers, photographers, writers and the general public to create unique physical experiences.
