Established in 2023, Betweenia is a project on the move, dedicated to bringing not just art books but also experiences of mutual aid and situated practices from China to Australia. They perceive Australia as a pivotal intermediary point to connect artists across the Asia-Pacific region and strive to support the creative endeavours of 'in-between' artists in Australia.
Betweenia Project represents a collection of Chinese art books and zines that embody the strategic resistance in Southern China’s grassroot publishing scene. This collection, featuring works from over 10 independent publishers and artists, spans a broad range of themes—from anarchist tactics for forging local communities, to cross-border co-creations and Inter-Asia alliances.
