55 PROJECTS

55 PROJECTS was born from the shared studio of Alice Oehr & Carla McRae in Naarm/Melbourne; creating space on paper for the two artists to play and collaborate outside of their individual practices and draw on their diverse shared extensive backgrounds in commercial image-making, exhibiting, and publishing. In 2024, 55 PROJECTS debuted and launched their new works at the Tokyo Art Book Fair.

Alice’s distinct, colourful style incorporates a love of food, pattern, collage and drawing. She loves to record the world as she moves through it, and uses her work to showcase her observations and interpretations of the details she encounters. She has author-illustrated seven of her own books with Australian publishers; exhibited her work extensively and runs regular workshops.

Carla works as both an artist and illustrator across drawing, digital illustration, sculpture, installation, murals and publications. Thematically her work explores everyday scenes, objects, and the realm of emotions, evoking hope and optimism through dynamic and playful visual narratives. She is represented commercially by The Jacky Winter Group.
