Art book fairs are vital sites of exchange, bringing together artists, publishers and audiences to share ideas, test formats and build communities around publishing.
This panel brings together practitioners reshaping the format and conventions of art book fairs across Australia and the Asia Pacific. It considers their evolving role within publishing ecologies, and how fairs can support emerging voices, diasporic communities and non-traditional practices, while navigating questions of scale, access and sustainability.

Sen Vanderzalm (moderator)
Sen Vanderzalm is a Naarm based artist and producer, and Co-Curator of the Melbourne Art Book Fair. She is also the Co-Founder of N0 R3PLY, a creative collective that operates across exhibitions, publishing, and public programming. FreakBooks
FreakBooks is an experimental art book fair that began in 2025. Lotus Ryder West and Babette Price-Sofronidis invite artists to make a book, suggesting the term “book” as a loosened framework. FreakBooks opens a place for artists to manipulate the book's function, abstract its form, or honour it. The page is explored and expanded upon as an endless place for play, held together by the element of sequence.
Press Print Party
Organized by Yayasan Pustaka Seni Indonesia, a nonprofit socio-cultural organisation dedicated to education, research, and promoting art and design through print media, journalism, and books; Print Press Party is a celebration and gathering for like-minded people and communities who share a passion for art books and publications based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Perimeter is a specialised bookstore, award-winning publisher, distribution house and platform for various art publishing endeavours in Melbourne, Australia. The store also curates an active program of exhibitions, talks, launches, workshops and consultations, and co-presents Same Page Art Book Fair with Gertrude Contemporary.
