ABOUT

The Melbourne Art Book Fair presents a range of programs across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria from 14-24 of May, 2026.

We encourage applications across a variety of disciplines and encourage a creative response to the theme of art and design publishing.

The first weekend of the Fair focuses on events at NGV (15-18 May), with the broader events program taking place from Monday 19 May to Sunday 24 May. We encourage applicants to plan their events after the first weekend as to not overlap with the Stallholder Fair programming. If you want to host an event on-site at NGV during the first weekend, please specify this in your application.

The Melbourne Art Book Fair strives to support under-represented and emerging makers. Please provide information about your practice/publishing imprint so our team can best support your involvement.

Applications will be assessed with the following criteria in mind:

  • relevance to art and design publishing, and the objectives of Melbourne Art Book Fair
  • the quality of the concept
  • demonstrated capacity of the applicant to successfully deliver the event

Please note, past participation in the Melbourne Art Book Fair does not guarantee future participation. Our team is unable to discuss application outcomes or provide feedback.

Participants are required to independently secure venues within the state of Victoria. Venues must meet minimum access requirements.

Presenters are welcome to charge for events. Melbourne Art Book Fair does not charge a fee to event presenters however we encourage events, where possible, to be free or have an affordable ticket price.
