Slow Burn Books and West Space are excited to announce the arrival of Inheritance, a new photobook by contemporary artist Phuong Ngo.

Inheritance is the first publication by Ngo in collaboration with Slow Burn books, released to coincide with his major solo exhibition of the same name at West Space.

Inheritance seeks to transform the ways in which the artist understands and works with materials of the past to re-image what was lost and to gift it to future generations. This publication brings together material and archival explorations that unite two families through histories of colonialism, conflict and displacement: inviting the viewer to engage with the work in an intimate way to draw their own readings of the project and its underlying concepts.

The book launch will include an artist talk with Phuong Ngo (Artist), Nikki Lam (Artist/Publisher) and Scott Heinrich (Designer/Publisher) with a signing by the artist and a casual celebration to follow.

This publication is supported by Creative Australia’s VACS Major Commissioning Projects Grant.
