Huge Mumma Spice Merchant, Warrandyte on Wurundjeri country
Join us for an afternoon of practical printmaking as we explore various methods of metal plate etching. The day will include demonstrations, examples, conversation on printmaking, and ample time for participants to create their own original etchings using techniques including:
● Manually working into the plate
● Acid etching using various grounds
● Collage
● Mono prints
● Having a cup of tea and coffee
Participants are guaranteed to leave with a handful of original prints of their own. All skill levels and ages are welcome – the day includes techniques for both beginners and experienced printmakers. Hosted in a cluster of Warrandyte studios, attendees will also have the opportunity to explore artist’s working studio spaces spanning sculpture, ceramics, printmaking and more. Your ticket includes all materials needed for the day: high quality printmaking paper, inks, use of the studio and press, and unlimited access to the tea, coffee and snacks bench.
There are two dates to choose from. Each day runs from 12pm-5pm. The Huge Mumma Spice Merchant studio is located in Warrandyte – all details for the day including address will be emailed to ticket holders in the week leading up to the workshop.
