Lindsay launches ‘Viaje a Los Amuletos’, a new book made in collaboration with Guatemalan furniture designers Estefanía de Ros and Gustavo Quintana-Kennedy of Agnes Studio and photographer Andrés Altamirano, with a poem by Rosa Chávez.

From Guatemala, Gustavo Quintana-Kennedy of Agnes Studio will join Pan After owner Phoebe Munro and Lindsay publisher Beth Wilkinson for a conversation about traditional crafts, contemporary design and independent publishing as a means of cultural storytelling.

To celebrate the launch of the book, Agnes Studio, Lindsay and Pan After have collaborated on the design of a chair – a piece of craft that continues the story of the book.

About the book

‘Viaje a Los Amuletos’ is Agnes Studio’s ‘Journey to Amuletos’, the story behind their first solo exhibition in Mexico City, Amuletos, documented by Andrés Altamirano. It is an exploration and narration of Guatemala’s cultural and artistic heritage. It is a journey of discovery, of materiality and of place – a search for the symbols and elements of good luck and fortune that connect us as humans, weaving together the threads of ancient tradition and contemporary design.
