TarraWarra Museum of Art

Healesville, Wurundjeri Country

TarraWarra Museum of Art has published extensively since its inception in 2003, with publications spanning exhibition catalogues for solo and group exhibitions and the renowned TarraWarra Biennials, as well as major collection titles. These publications are conceived as an extension of the Museum’s curatorial practice – sites for long-form thinking, critical reflection and sustained engagement with artists’ work.

Each publication is developed through the commissioning of new writing and scholarship, bringing together curators, writers and artists to reflect on exhibitions in depth and allow them to live beyond their temporal moment. Installation imagery and artwork documentation provide a comprehensive record of each exhibition.

Recent publications include Portrait of a Collection, a monumental volume celebrating TarraWarra’s highly respected collection of Australian art.

For TarraWarra, these publications serve as a form of stewardship – a way of caring for artists’ practices, ideas and histories over time.

Located on Wurundjeri Country in Healesville, TarraWarra Museum of Art recognises publishing as one of the most accessible ways the Museum travels beyond place. Presenting at the Melbourne Art Book Fair offers an opportunity to connect new audiences with the artists, writers and ideas that have shaped the Museum’s program over the past two decades.
